Ferryman Coaches

From three spreadsheets to one plan

A regional coach operator planned its routes, drivers and vehicles in three separate spreadsheets. We joined them into one plan that shows a clash before it happens.

The brief

Ferryman’s planners kept routes, drivers and vehicles in three files, and reconciled them by hand every Thursday.

What we did

We built one plan in a shared workbook, with a check that flags a driver who is booked twice or a vehicle that is due a service.

What changed

Clashes are now caught days early. Agency drivers are booked only when the plan really has a gap.

Where it stands

The planning team spends Thursdays on customers instead of on the files.

“

The plan now tells us on Monday what would have gone wrong on Friday.
